How to add your Steam Game Server Token to your Garry's Mod server.
To host a Garry's Mod server that is publicly accessible and compliant with Steams server policies, you will need to assign a Steam Game Server Login Token (GSLT). This knowledge base article will show you through the process of generating and assigning the GSLT to your server.

Generating your GSLT Key
Navigate to Steams GSLT page and login with your steam account. (Garry's Mod will need to be owned on the steam account logging in)
At the bottom of the GSLT page you will find the form to fill in.
- App ID - 4000 (Garrys Mods App ID)
- Memo - Can be left blank or you can add your server name. (Not required)
Now the key should have been generated and link to your steam account.
Each Server that you wish to link to your Steam Account you will need to generate a new GSLT key.
The GSLT Login Key will be what we add to the start up section of your Garrys Mod Server.
Adding the GSLT key to your Garry's Mod server.
Simply Navigate to the required server and follow these steps:
- Click on Startup Tab (Sidebar)
- Enter the newly generated key into the Steam Account Token field
Now just restart your server and it should become publicly listed on the server list.
